Changing the Google Calendar Event Owner Account

Update which Google account creates SchoolCal events

Overview

This process allows you to change which Google account is set as the event owner for all SchoolCal-created calendar events. This is necessary when you need to transition event ownership to a different Google account while maintaining calendar synchronization.

How To Change the Event Owner Account

Before changing the event owner account, we recommend deleting all previously created SchoolCal events to prevent duplication:

  1. Navigate to the SchoolCal filters page
  2. Unselect all school levels on each flow
  3. Save and re-sync
  4. This will delete all future SchoolCal-created events

Note: If you need to delete all events (not just future events), select the "All Dates (not recommended)" option within the filter tab of each active flow.

To change the event owner account:

  1. Go to the Connections tab of the SchoolCal dashboard
  2. Select Edit next to the Google connection
  3. Re-authenticate via Google
  4. Save the connection
  5. Return to the SchoolCal filters page and reselect the school levels for which events should be synced
  6. Save and re-sync
