Connecting FMX

Connect FMX to SchoolCal to sync data to general or resource calendars

Set up your FMX environment

  1. Add a new user record in FMX (Users & Contacts > Add New Record > User)
  2. Name: SchoolCal Admin (or something similiar)
  3. Email: Use the Google or Outlook email you already created for SchoolCal when connecting your calendars (e.g. schoolcal@myschool.com)
  4. User Type: FMX Administrator (or whatever the highest level of permissioning is)
  5. Password: We recommend either auto-generating or setting an existing password. Be sure to uncheck the option to "Require user to change password after logging in"

Connect FMX to SchoolCal

  1. Navigate to Connections, find FMX, and click "Manage Connection"
  2. Edit the connection
  3. Enter all required fields, and update the connection
    1. School short name = usually, the name found in your FMX portal URL. For example, if the URL were https://myschool.gofmx.com/, my short name would be "myschool".
    2. API username = the email of the FMX user you just added (e.g. schoolcal@myschool.com)
    3. API password = the password of the FMX user you just added
    4. School domain URL = the URL of your FMX portal (e.g. https://myschool.gofmx.com/)
  4. Go back into the FMX Connection, and click "Manage Connection"
  5. You should see the connection status as "Connected" (you may have to press test connection)

Load FMX data

  1. Navigate to the Data tab
  2. Press the button to load FMX data

Book your onboarding call

At this point, you're ready to book an onboarding call with our support specialist. On this call, we'll help you map your school's resource calendars, and build out your flow(s) to start syncing.
