# Troubleshooting Google Calendar

## Solving common issues with Google

### Why am I getting notifications 10 minutes before every class?

Google Calendar automatically adds a 10-minute notification to every event by default, which causes frequent notifications for SchoolCal-created events like class periods.

**Solution 1: Remove notifications for all users (Administrators)**

In your SchoolCal event template, check the box labeled "Delete event notifications." This prevents notifications from being added to SchoolCal events for everyone. Note: This is an all-or-nothing setting—if you want individual users to decide, don't check this box.

**Solution 2: Remove notifications for yourself (Individual users)**

1. Click the three dots next to your primary calendar and choose "Settings and Sharing"
2. Scroll down to "Event Notifications"
3. Click the "x" next to the 10-minute notification

**Note**: If SchoolCal has already been deployed, removing the automatic notification setting will also remove notifications from existing SchoolCal events. Users can still manually add notifications to individual events if desired.
